15 Minute Cities - Another Unbelievable, Unimaginable Attempt To Control People Around The Globe...Maybe!
I am extremely fortunate to have a second home outside of the country. In 2016, we purchased a small home in the village of La Herradura in Andalucia, the southernmost region of Spain. Our village has 3,700 full time residents. It’s been 3 years since we’ve been back here due to the restrictions placed on us for being unvaccinated. We left Spain on March 1, 2020, about a week before the pandemic was called in Spain. Coming back to Spain feels like a wonderful dream. Sunshine and warm weather is beginning to heal the scars left by the pandemic. We are more social here than in Oregon but perhaps some of it is a function of the isolation we’ve endured, again, due to our vaccination status. No one here is talking about the pandemic. Despite ever increasing illnesses, be it flu, RSV or perhaps Covid, they seem to delight in living a good life. Our group of senior expats have a goal of being healthy and happy, with an emphasis on healthy eating and exercise. Sign me up. What could be bad about that?
We live about 15 minutes away from another village that is over 50% British. We tend not to go there very often as we prefer the small village where we live which continues to operate as a traditional Spanish village. We have no supermarket for example, instead one goes to the fruit/vegetable market, the bread store, the fish store or the meat store. I need only to travel to a neighboring town which sports 3 supermarkets that are open all day long, rather than close from 2:00-5:00 each day, if I want to shop American style. I do however read their daily newsletter which provides me with information in English about this area of Andalucia and the EU in general.
Recently, I came across an alarming article, published by a British author, who reports the following:
British Protest "15-Minute Cities" Where They Will Become Prisoners of the State- Oxford is First in UK:
- Fifteen-minute cities are popping up everywhere, and the World Economic Forum is wildly enthusiastic about them. Last year it was announced that Paris, France, would become a 15-minute city, and now the British city of Oxford is next. The city council has announced that it will divide Oxford into 15-minute neighborhoods or small 15-minute towns billed as “greener, cleaner and safer.” See image below. However, outraged Brits are fighting back. Oxford citizens have taken to the streets, “The media is silent, of course,” writes UK journalist Sophie Corcoran. She implored people to stand with the citizens of Oxford against this type of totalitarianism.
- Residents are allowed to leave their 15-minute city a maximum of 100 times a year, but then they must first register their car, which is tracked throughout the city via smart cameras. Otherwise, you will be fined. In addition, the government will track and control your every movement through your smartphones & facial recognition technology.
- The “15-minute city” concept is crucial in the United Nations Agenda 2030 and their Net Zero green agenda. The World Economic Forum is also pushing this new concept. Oxford, which has declared a ‘climate emergency,’ is hoping their 15-minute cities will help achieve the Council’s ‘Net Zero carbon Oxford’ vision by 2040.” Oxford will be divided into six zones ‘to save the planet’ from “global warming.” Electronic fences are placed on access roads to ensure residents remain within their own zone. It is frightening to me that this could be happening, but apparently it’s on the agenda right now in Oxford. The notation that the media is silent is also chilling to me. They were silent during the pandemic and now they’re following suit with this. One of the benefits for me of being in Spain is that it has encouraged me to be less engaged in the media. I’m not watching any news shows, I don’t read the U.S. newspapers. It’s a much needed break so I’m wondering if any of my readers are aware of this potential nightmare that is beginning to happen in Europe.
When I take a moment to really think about this, if it’s true, I’m left with the realization that rather than regulate corporations and industry toward stricter pollution guidelines or requiring the adoption of clean energy resources or manufacturing regulations, they instead decide to restrict the freedoms of the citizens of the world. Amy Mek, a journalist in the UK concluded:
“While the initial allotment of escape tickets may seem reasonable to some, once the public accepts that the state has the right to confine you, it is guaranteed that they will add additional restrictions and fewer permits to leave your zone. This was established very clearly and quickly in many Western nations in the past few years under the rubric of Covid restrictions.”
I googled the 15 minute city in Paris and found an entirely different agenda than the one presented in Oxford however. Here’s the concept of what they’re supposedly doing in Paris. It sounds lovely and positive which leaves me feeling a bit concerned, seeing how Oxford has been defining and reacting to this concept.
A remarkable transformation is taking place in one of Europe’s most densely populated capitals. Paris is turning famous hotspots such as the Champs-Elysées into green corridors, cars are making way for cyclists and pedestrians and urban farms are popping up all over the City of Light. It’s all part of a bid to transform Paris into a greener, cleaner and safer city and to make services accessible to residents within 15 minutes of their homes. Including locally grown food.
As you can see, there’s nothing about restrictions of movement, surveillance measures or fines for leaving your limited area. Truth is, I find myself questioning the whole thing. Does that make me a conspiracy theorist? Obviously the people in Oxford seem to be up in arms about the anticipated loss of their freedom. I also haven’t found any reports saying these claims are false or exaggerated.
The World Economic Forum has highlighted Paris in a short video, clearly supporting these measures. They make it sound wonderful. If one is to believe it, I would encourage every city to consider these measures. Personally the WEF makes me uncomfortable. I don’t have any confidence in their decisions for the global public. I don’t trust them. Until I hear otherwise about the situation in Oxford, I will continue to believe the possibility the threat is real.
We learned during the pandemic that the world’s governments successfully restricted people’s movements and activities. It was billed as necessary to prevent the loss of life. That turned out to be untrue. People weren’t happy about it but they accepted it for the most part. Hopefully we citizen’s of the world have learned our lessons and we won’t lie down for these 15 minute cities, if the worst of what we’re hearing is what’s being planned. I believe it is the world’s polluters who must adapt and make necessary changes to save the planet. It should not require the loss of our personal freedom of movement to accomplish that.
We have become a nation that supports the interests of corporations rather than the public health of our citizens. Nothing could be clearer than the regulatory capture of our public health agencies, academic research institutions and mainstream media during the pandemic. We all know that pharmaceutical companies have a legal mandate to put the interests of their stockholders as their top priority. We had however assumed that our public health agencies were required to put the interests of the public as their top priority. We’ve learned, unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. They are in fact the paid agents of Big Pharma, whom they were mandated to regulate.
I hope this information will inspire you to keep on top of this developing potential nightmare. If you read legitimate information about this, please reach out to me and share it. If we all keep an eye out for any new information, we’ll be ready to sound the alarm if necessary. It does sound too outrageous to be true. I can’t imagine any citizens in towns or cities in the U.S. happily going along with these proposed measures, as stated in Oxford. On the other hand, it feels a bit too familiar after the last three years of Covid. I often felt like I was living in the twilight zone. This sounds disturbingly like the twilight zone as well. What do you think?
He is a substacker who is tracking the machinations of the WHO. You can look him up on substack and see his work.
What if you found out that "The Coming Ice Age"/"Global Warming"/"Climate Change" is the product of the same type of manipulated data, research and science as the pandemic's manipulated PCR test data, mask and jab efficacy research and science? A comprehensive narrative based on a tiny bit of largely irrelevant and misapplied science. All requiring massive sacrifices by the masses of the people that don't apply to the powerful elite that never produces the promised beneficial results the sacrifices are purportedly for. While wrecking western liberal democratic and capitalist values. Leaving once-thriving free and prosperous societies a hellish dystopian wreck.
What if the war on carbon is as big a fraud and attack on our way of life as the war on a virus has been, both equally ineffective against their stated targets but highly effective against their real targets - We, the Free People? Because it is. It's never been about saving the planet. Unless our elimination from the planet is the remedy these powerful elite has prescribed to treat it.
